Friends of Israel Groups
StandWithUs works and supports Friends of Israel groups across the United Kingdom, sending thousands of education materials to support tabling activities, enabling outreach to diverse groups and strengthening grassroots Israel education.
For example, we proudly support the work of Confederation of Friends of Israel Scotland (COFIS) in launching the Shalom Festival at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016 and 2017. We support community groups in responding to anti-Israel activities such as boycotts of local businesses, rallying support for Israel and advising local groups on how best to respond to anti-Israel sentiment in their local context.
StandWithUs has works closely in schools, identifying the need to train, empower, and inspire GCSE and Sixth Form students prior to entering into further education. We provide educational workshops, seminars, presentations, and resources to secondary schools across the United Kingdom. Our main goal is to inspire students, providing these services to Jewish, Church of England and non-faith schools and academies equipping teachers and students with the tools to be Israel educators and learn in more detail about the Arab-Israel conflict.
In partnership with Sussex Friends of Israel and North West Friends of Israel, StandWithUs supports Israction Day which encourages support for Israel as well as giving back to the local community at the Hanukkah / Christmas time.
This is achieved by purchasing Kosher or Israeli goods from your local supermarket and donating them to charities and community centres in your local area to support the needy. First launched in 2014, Israction day has become a worldwide movement of individuals, organisations and embassies taking part to support Israel and their local community.
